Plant Site

The plant is located south of Duba port on the coast of the red sea, 25km north of Duba city, which is 180 km away from Tabuk province. Its strategic location enables it to cater to the demand for cement in the northern regions of the Kingdom and also for export to other countries. Tabuk Cement Plant

Plant Description

Tabuk Cement Plant The plant was designed to produce Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) and Sulphate Resisting Cement (SRC) conforming to Saudi standards Nos, 143 - 1979g, and 570 - 1992g.
Recently, necessary facitlities/equipment for the production of Pozzoland Portland Cement (PPC) was included to produce similarly standards conforming Pozzolana Cement.
The plant has been supplied, erected, and commissioned by Mitsubishi/KHI/UBE Consortium (Japan). The contract between Tabuk Cement Company and Mitsubishi was awarded on a turnkey basis and was signed on 07/11/1994.
Austroplan, of Austria acted as consultants for the project. The plant has its own 45MW Power Plant and 1500m3/day Desalination Plant, to provide power and water for the cement plant and housing comples. The construction of the plant started with site preparation using explosives where necessary and was commenced on 29/12/1994.
Innauguration and production were started on Thursday 25/1/1419h, corresponding to 21/05/1995g under the auspices of His Royal Highness, Prince Sultan Bin Abdul-Aziz, the Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of Defense, Aviation, & General Inspector, and His Royal Highness, Prince Fahad Bin Sultan Bin-Abdul-Aziz, Prince of Tabuk region and Honorary President of Tabuk Cement Company. Commercial sales of cement has started on 01/10/1998.

Supporting Sections

Power Plant:
Tabuk Cement Company has installed its own 45MW Power Plant that runs on diesel or heavy fuel oil. It consists of seven engines each of 6.7MW/6.6KV and one 1MW emergency engine, supplied by KRUPP MAK, Germany.
Desalination Plant:
The plant has its own Desalination Plant having three (3) units of 500m3 each with total capacity of 1500m3/day. The process depends on evaporation of seawater, the plant was supplied by SASAKURA, Japan.
Housing Complex:
A Housing Complex with all facilities, looking onto the sea, has been built on an area of 35600SM. IT includes family & single housing units designed in observance of the Saudi traditions. The complex contains the following facilities:
Separated Primary Schools for boys and girls Housing Complex
Separated Training Centers for men and women.
Medical Center.
Courts for miscellaneous sports.
Mosques.
Shopping Centers.
Nursery.
Buffets & Restaurants
Various parks for kids.
